An Unlikely Stage for American Politics: Entertainment?

I believe the writers strike has had a positive impact on people’s attention to politics rather then fruitless entertainment. This is not to underscore the talent of writers for whom I deeply respect for their passion and creativity.

However, I find it interesting to see how our viewing habits have changed (or at least my own) now that shows are off the air as far as most are concerned. Now politics, independent broadcasting (YouTube) and live entertainment (College Football) are quickly becoming our primary source of viewership. Thank you writers for a well deserved break and an unintended influence on the American people.
